Winchester Thurston Remodel – Pittsburgh, PA
The Pittsburgh Commercial Team completed a window installation project at the Joan Clark Davis Center for Interdisciplinary Learning at Winchester Thurston School. The renovation transformed a former office space into an educational facility designed to support a high-performance learning environment.

An important aspect of the project was creating an energy-efficient educational space while working toward performance levels as close to Passive House standards as possible. The renovation presented several challenges, including the need for windows with low U-values, units tall enough to fit the existing openings without additional window combinations or mulling, and a cost-effective installation solution that could accommodate the building's existing conditions.
Pella Impervia fiberglass windows were recommended to help meet these requirements. The fiberglass composite material offers natural insulating properties, making it a strong choice for projects focused on thermal performance and energy efficiency. The windows also provided a practical solution for the building's existing openings while supporting the overall performance goals of the renovation.

The Pittsburgh Commercial Team is proud to have contributed to this educational renovation, helping transform an existing office building into a high-performance learning space through carefully selected window solutions!
