Gallatin Avenue Living Centre - Uniontown, PA

The Pittsburgh Commercial Team is proud to spotlight the Gallatin Avenue Living Centre in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, helping preserve a historic landmark while supporting its continued use in the community.

Located on North Gallatin Avenue, the Gallatin Avenue Living Centre occupies the former Gallatin School, a 117-year-old building that was restored and repurposed by City Mission Living Stones as a 30-unit housing and service complex.

For this project, Pella Reserve Traditional aluminum-clad wood single-hung and fixed windows were selected to complement the building’s historic character while providing modern performance. The windows feature Advanced Low-E argon insulated glass, helping improve energy efficiency while maintaining the appearance of the historic property.

The renovation included the replacement of all 123 windows as part of the building’s preservation efforts. The new windows combine the warmth of wood interiors with a durable aluminum-clad exterior, providing a balance of traditional design and long-term performance.

The renovation was designed by lee CALISTI architecture+design and constructed by Fairchance Construction Company, bringing together thoughtful design and quality construction to preserve the historic building.

Located in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, the Gallatin Avenue Living Centre continues to provide housing and support services while giving new life to an important piece of the community’s history.
